DESCRIPTION:

A water based thick acrylic coating formulated to provide a high build textured finish. Suitable for interior or exterior applications. For use over concrete, masonry and fibrous cement or plaster surfaces. DECRA-TEX does not require over-coating to achieve a uniform weatherproof finish and does not contain sand or asbestos fillers.

PURPOSE:

To provide an attractive decorative uniform textured coating that fills cracks and effectively hides surface imperfections. Suitable for interior or exterior applications.

APPLICATIONS:

DECRA-TEX may be applied direct to the surface. However, on very porous surfaces such as cement blockwork, and application of H.B. Primer applied at the rate of 10 square metres per litre is recommended prior to the application of DECRA-TEX. DECRA-TEX may be applied by roller or spray. For spray applications, refer to manufacturer instructions.
ROLLER APPLICATION: Apply two coats using a foam texture roller, a long nap roller or other special texture roller to achieve texture finish required.
APPLICATION RATE: Coverage will vary greatly depending on surface and required texture finish; generally 2.5 square metres per litre.

SURFACE PREPARATION:

UNPAINTED: Cement block, off-form concrete, brick and other porous surfaces. Ensure the surface is free of dust, oil or other contaminants.
PAINTED: Ensure that existing paint is firmly adhering to substrate. Remove chalk, loose paint etc. Sanding of gloss surfaces is required to ensure satisfactory adhesion.
GALVANISED IRON FINISHES: Clean down ensuring any surface contaminants are removed. Apply one coat of Adcrete Galvanised Iron Primer.

CLEAN UP:

Clean up in water while the material is still wet.

PRECAUTIONS:

Do not apply to exposed surfaces if rain threatens. Do not apply to surfaces if the temperature is likely to fall below 10oc. Avoid application in direct sun, hot or windy conditions, as this may cause premature drying and subsequent roller marks.

DECRA-TEX meets Government Paint Committee specifications G.P.C-C-117 (Exterior) G.P.C-C-118 (Interior).
