DESCRIPTION:

SUPER M, is a water resistant additive and bonding agent for cement systems, formulated from an acrylic co-polymer emulsion, which has specially high adhesive strength.
SUPER M, dries quickly to a thin, flexible film and due to its exceptional adhesive properties it may be used for bonding a variety of substrates, including asphalt, concrete, timber, insulation foams and metal.
SUPER M, when added to cement mortar mixes exhibits excellent adhesion, improves tensile strength together with flexural and compressive strength. This material improves chemical resistance and can be laid from a feather edge upwards.
SUPER M, is a non-toxic and is acceptable for use with potable water.

TYPICAL USES:

  • The bonding of new concrete to old concrete or other sound surfaces can be efficiently achieved by the use of SUPER M.
  • SUPER M can be used for the repairing of concrete floors, spalled concrete, bedding tiles, waterproofing, lining of tanks, chemical and abrasion resistant floors.
  • Wall rendering, Floor screeds and general concrete repairs, SUPER M excels.

ADVANTAGES:

BONDING, with the application of SUPER M to concrete there is no need to roughen the surface prior to the application of the concrete screed.
EASE OF APPLICATION, SUPER M is supplied in ready to use containers. Water must not be added.
WORKABILITY, SUPER M exerts a considerable plasticising effect of its own.

SURFACE PREPARATION:

Area to be treated must be clean, dry and free of oils, grease and wax, remove any curing agents which may effect the adhesion of the SUPER M material.
Where absorbent surfaces occur such as brick, concrete and stone etc, dampen down well insuring that the surface is wet, but has no free water remaining.

PHYSICAL PROPERTIES:

Compression Strength 69n/mm2
Tensile Strength  6.5/mm2
Flexural Strength 13n/mm2
Shrinkage 0.01%
Chemical Resistance Resist mild acids alkalis, sulphates chlorides, urine & sugar.
Sand Cement Ratio 3:1
Polymer Mortar Ratio 10%

CAUTION:

All tools and equipment should be cleaned down immediately after use with water.

APPLICATION:

PRIMING AND SEALING MIX: 1.5 to 2 parts Portland Cement to 1 part Super M. Where waterproof coatings are required a second priming/sealing coat should be applied on after the first coat is dry.

CEMENT & MORTAR MIX: 50kg/ mix to 10 to 20Ltr of SUPER M generally gauging water is replaced by the SUPER M.

WATER RESISTANT RENDER: PRIMER, 2 parts cement to 1 part SUPER M RENDER, 3 to 1 sand cement with 10% SUPER M i.e. 20kg sand/cement = 2Ltr SUPER M.
Apply 2 prime coats 30 minutes apart, allow to dry approximately 48hrs, apply a tack coat of 2 part cement to 1 part SUPER M then render surface whilst it is still damp.
Use washed sand or Portland Cement.

BONDING AND BEDDING SCREED: SCREED MIX as for RENDER mix above.

APPLICATION:

1 prime coat on damp surface then apply screed mix whilst prime coat is still damp. BONDING MIX, as for primer mix above, mix to a lump free consistency, with a stiff brush work the slurry well into the damp surface.

PACKAGING: 4 Ltr, 10 Ltr, 20 Ltr and 200 Ltr.
